In November 2001, Slovenian government issued the state award for inventions and technology achievements in production of automatic LCD welding protection filters.
The R&D project for angular compensation retardation layer was financed and coordinated by Balder, subvention by the Ministry of Science of Republic of Slovenia and realized in cooperation of Balder and Jožef Stefan institute research teams under the leadership of Dr. Janez Pirš.
